Recently, one of our favorite projects has been giving our outdoor gathering area a complete refresh—a transformation that perfectly reflects the warm, welcoming atmosphere we’re proud to offer.
From Simple Beginnings to Something Special
When we originally started remodeling Fannin Meadows RV Park, our outdoor public area was functional but not that welcoming. It was a pair of weathered plastic park benches—functional, but not that welcoming.
We didn’t want to have a space that was less than that of a seating area—a space that the guests would be able to muster, recharge, and create memories.
Whether the guests were traveling for a weekend or for a lifetime, we had pictured a space that welcomed all to bask in the serene beauty of North Texas.
Designing with Comfort and Durability in Mind
We also wanted to add style, comfort, and sustainability to our project by having an outside space that is not only visually pleasing but also long-lasting.
We began by getting rid of the old benches and replacing them with new waterproof wicker furniture due to its longevity and timelessness.
These weather-resistant, high-quality wicker furniture pieces are also extremely comfortable—ideal for sipping an early morning coffee, reading a book to enjoy, or socializing as the sun sets.
Every piece was specifically chosen to function well in the open air of the great outdoors and provide house guests with a peaceful sanctuary in the fresh country air.
At the heart of the living room, we placed a stunning stone table as the ideal social gathering spot. It’s now the ideal spot for Friday evening dinners, card nights, and random evening chats with our heads pointed up towards the stars.
Lighting the Way—Sustainably
Beyond closing down the space at night, making it inviting, we have also implemented solar lights throughout the space. The green lights provide a lovely, ethereal light without contributing to our usage, just like our green agenda.
Solar lighting installation not only lights and makes it safe, but it also makes the area a fantastic evening social hub. It is so magical to sit in the warmth of the lights, with a peaceful country surrounding and travel companions’ company.
